About Me

Ever since I was little, I've loved everything about reading and writing. In third grade, I started writing and illustrating my own children's books that I would bring to class and read to my friends. My teacher, Mrs. Aman, encouraged my creativity and passion by always having room on her bookshelf for my stories. Because of teachers like her, my love of writing has only grown stronger! I am carrying on my passion at Florida State University, where I am pursuing a major in Editing, Writing, and Media with a minor in Communications. This portfolio highlights the work I did as an intern for Southern Coastal Homes. Enjoy!

Everything in an Internship

For Southern Coastal Homes, I was in charge of creating and managing the company's social media presence. This included Instagram, Facebook, weekly business goals for employees, welcome home letters, and blog posts. I was assigned the task of writing a few templates to use for "welcome home" letters. New and existing homeowners are very important to the building and design teams at Southern Coastal Homes, and these letters are meant to show the company's gratitude for their clients.

Writing the Guidelines for Future Interns was another task I had the pleasure of doing. I was the first intern at Southern Coastal Homes, and when they asked me to write some advice for future interns, I just couldn't say no!

The Weekly Business Goals were very important for organization. I wrote new ones each week based on the information my supervisor gave me, and they were sent out in a company-wide email. These written goals helped the company visualize what needed to be accomplished each week.

I had the pleasure of meeting with the website director to talk about updating the company's website. Southern Coastal Homes has a lot of important information on their website, and I got to help them organize material and write a little bit about the business.
